The magnificent building of the former Kenda homestead has been renovated and revived in the spirit of times past.

This spacious suite, named after the successful master Matevž from the Kenda family, is situated in the eastern part of the manor, from where a beautiful view opens over the village and the pilgrimage church. The elegance of the suite continues on the spacious terrace, perfect for relaxation, reading a good book or enjoying a glass of premium wine.

The deluxe rooms are spacious and furnished with hand-carved wooden furniture. The tranquillity of the rooms, offering a view over the old village centre, the pilgrimage church and the nearby mountain peaks, will enchant you.

Our cuisine takes you on a journey through the flavours of the local area with rich culinary tradition and excellent fresh ingredients sourced from local producers. Žlikrofi (stuffed dumplings), Bakalca (lamb sauce), Bati (cooked bread), Štruklji (rolled dumplings) are the specialities of the rediscovered Idrija cuisine that reflects a centuries-old tradition and cooking skills of our grandmothers.

At Kendov Dvorec with chefs Klavdij Pirih and Franci Pivk we are very proud to be awarded a Michelin plate 2020 and presented in the first edition of the Michelin Guide in Slovenia.

The peaceful secluded location of the hotel, amidst 100-year-old apple trees and kept gardens, offers a unique view on the historical city centre and surrounding hills. Guests can enjoy hikes in nature and take part in various folk traditions and festivities that take place nearby. The town of Spodnja Idrija is locally known for tradition and preserving the heritage of its ancestors.
